Want to know more about where your food comes from? Well, of course… We all do!

The Farm Monitor, brought to you in association with Georgia Farm Bureau and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, is where you can turn each week to learn about the food you eat and the farmers who grow it. It’s the only news and information television program dedicated to Georgia’s #1 industry — agriculture.

The Farm Monitor has been on the air, telling the story of Georgia agriculture, for over 50 years. Our state is blessed with a climate that allows tremendous opportunities for farmers. Virtually any crop or animal can be grown successfully somewhere in our state. We’re known for our sweet Georgia peaches, our peanuts, and those delicious Vidalia Onions. And don’t forget pecans, poultry, cattle, and blueberries.

Our Programming

Based in Macon, the Farm Monitor staff travels across Georgia, the Southeast, and to other parts of the country to cover stories of interest to farmers and consumers. While the primary focus of the weekly program is agriculture in Georgia and the Southeast, national agriculture issues, consumer information, recipes, and interesting feature stories about rural life are also part of the show.

“There’s plenty of variety for us to cover, and we think that adds to the show’s appeal,” says Farm Monitor Executive Producer Kenny Burgamy. “We want to tell the farmers’ story each week. We want to show viewers how agriculture has become more efficient despite burdensome regulations and unpredictable weather. That using the latest technology, the American farmer grows safer, healthier, better-tasting food on less land with fewer inputs and fewer people.”

In 2024, a historic partnership was made between the Farm Monitor program, GFB, and ABAC. By taking the Farm Monitor’s broad reach, GFB’s dedication to the ag industry, and ABAC’s commitment to education and rural Georgia, this partnership will ensure agriculture and future agricultural leaders remain successful.
